Privacy
The public news site is designed for reading. It does not ask readers to create an account. The only personal information it asks for is an email address, and only if you choose to sign up for the daily briefing.
Information the service receives
Like most web services, hosting and network providers may process basic request data such as IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp, and security logs. This data supports delivery, abuse prevention, and reliability.
Audience measurement
With consent, PowerLeaks records privacy-bounded reading events such as page views, reading depth, engaged time, broad referrer and campaign classes, device class, and coarse country. It does not store raw IP addresses, full query strings, article prose, advertising identifiers, or browser fingerprints. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals disable this collection.
Reader reactions and local storage
The public site may store one random, signed anonymous token so a reader can choose “Helpful” or “Needs context” once per article and reverse that choice. It is not an account and contains no personal or device information. The site also remembers, in your browser only, whether you signed up for the daily briefing or closed its signup prompt, so the prompt is not shown again after a signup, or for 30 days after you close it. PowerLeaks does not use advertising cookies.
Daily briefing emails
If you sign up for the daily briefing, PowerLeaks stores your email address, the page you signed up from, and when you signed up. The address is used only to send the briefing; it is not sold, rented, or shared for advertising. Every briefing will include an unsubscribe link. After you unsubscribe, the address is kept only as unsubscribed, so it is not emailed again or re-added by a later signup. To have it deleted entirely, use the contact page.
External links and media
Stories may link to or display media from third-party sites. Those services operate under their own privacy practices when a reader opens or loads them.

Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date.
